Hi, I'm Ceri, a photographer, living and working in Whitby.
I grew up in York and that's where I fell in love with photography, working for student newspaper 'Nouse' and spending my free time shadowing the photographers at the 'York Press'
I knew by now that I wanted to work for a newspaper so I applied for a place on the NCTJ photojournalism course in Sheffield, led by Paul Delmar who taught us how to survive and thrive in the industry.
My first 'proper' job was as photographer at the Whitby Gazette, I loved creating the newspaper each week, covering all that was happening in Whitby, telling stories through my pictures.
After this I delved into the world of National Press with two years at SWNS news agency covering the North East.
But... my heart belonged by the sea, so I navigated my way back to Whitby where I began freelancing.
Alongside being a mum to two boys, in my spare time I love sea swimming with the Whitby Wild Swimmers and organising the Whitby Regatta Swim. I also volunteer as RNLI press officer for Whitby Lifeboat Station.
I love natural, reportage style photography, I am obsessed with 'nice light' and I would love to help you tell your story.
If you'd like to chat, please drop me a message or give me a call and we can discuss your ideas.
I have had work published in the national and regional press, and worked for many clients including:
